About NBI Co-Founder and Director Earth C. Lande
 Earth passionately believes that childbirth can be an empowering and wonderful time for mother and the entire family. As a doula, educator, activist, and mother it is her desire that every mother and baby have a safe and sacred birth. It is a profound pleasure for her to support the transformation a woman goes through to become a mother for the first time or even the fifth.
Earth has a B.A. degree from historic Mills College (Oakland,CA) in child development, where she focused on prenatal and infant development. She is the co-founder and director of The Natural Birth Institute, a birth wellness and education organization. She is the lead facilitator & co-creator of “The Good Birth Keeper” professional doula training program. She has co-facilitated doula trainings with international master midwife Elizabeth Davis. She became a certified doula through Heart and Hands, an 80-hour plus midwifery training intensive.Â
Earth is a Certified Yoga instructor and is registered with the International Yoga Alliance. Her focus in Yoga for pregnancy and birth.
She has also a completed a 15 hour breastfeeding counselor education course through the Nursing Mother’s Council.
Earth has been featured in leading trade publications “Midwifery Today Magazine”, newsletters for, “The California Association of Midwives” & “International Center for Traditional Childbearing”.  And a feauterd Birth-Poet on Mothering Magizine’s official web site.
Earth is featured in the acclaimed film “My baby, My body, My birth” along with her husband Dr. Micael Lande, DC. She was an expert guest on radio shows in the San Francisco Bay Area. Earth has been an invited guest expert speaker at Life West Chiropractic College, Palmer Chiropractic College, New College of San Francisco, Contra Costa College and Hayward State University on the global state of childbirth. Earth co-produced and stared in the San Francisco premiere of “BIRTH” the play.
She is a member of the Sistahs of the Good Birth, the Association for Prenatal & Perinatal Psychology and Health and a former Birthways board member. She has been a guest expert  teacher at the Teenage Parenting Project on San Francisco. She maintains a private doula practice in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She has earned her place as a birth-giver by birthing two beautiful daughters at home.
